Ned Beatty

Ned Beatty (Fat Monroe) is a Kentucky native who agreed to work on FAT MONROE for scale (minimum payment designated by actors' unions). He grew up working hard on farms and fishing in St. Matthews, Kentucky. He has worked as a professional performer since he was just ten-years-old. The first decade of his career was spent at the Barter Theater in Abbingdon, Virginia. He has also worked for the Erie Playhouse in Erie, Pennsylvania, the Playhouse Theatre in Houston, Texas and the Arena Stage Company in Washington, D.C. In 1971, Ned was chosen by Director John Boorman to play Bobby Trippe in the violent and shocking DELIVERANCE. Ned's film career, which has spanned over 100 motion pictures, includes NASHVILLE, ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN, CAPTAIN AMERICA, SUPERMAN, HE GOT GAME, COOKIE'S FORTUNE and SPRING FORWARD.

Chris Berry

Chris Berry (Wilgus in MAXINE) is a Texas native who came to MAXINE fresh from a lead role in another independent film PARADISE FALLS. Chris's training is in theater, where he continues to act while he seeks more film and television roles.

William Johnson

William Johnson (Wilgus in both FAT MONROE and NIGHT RIDE) is the son of a coal miner from Carbon Glow, Kentucky and a student at Letcher High School. He was fourteen when he played the role of Wilgus in NIGHT RIDE and ten when he created the role of Wilgus in FAT MONROE.

Robin Mullins

Robin Mullins (Maxine) was born in Eastern Kentucky, raised in Southwestern Virginia and now lives in Abbingdon, Virginia. An accomplished singer/songwriter, Robin has also worked in regional theater productions for several years. Robin received critical acclaim for her role in the feature film NELL. She has appeared in numerous television and film roles since.

Frank Hoyt Taylor

Frank Hoyt Taylor (Delmer) is well known in the region as one of the original actors in Roadside Theater's Red Fox: Second Hangin' which was also broadcast on PBS. Frank makes his home on a farm in his native southwestern Virginia. He is frequently seen on television including numerous appearances in I'll Fly Away and Christy, and in supporting roles in feature films such as MATEWAN and THE RIVER.
