I am proud to be Mexican American. I'm from Santa Fe, New Mexico. My ancestors have been in this country since before the Mayflower. Most folks from mexico come here, work, pay into the social security system that I draw from, but very few will get anything back.
Think about it. You might be a recipient of their work and effort. Very few of these workers get much from any services unless they work. work is why they are here and all you crybaby's get the rewards from their work. Think about it...

I can't believe some of the comments I read. I came from Mexico in 1989, when I was 13 years old. I lived with my sisters in LA. I came to the US looking for a better life not to get anything for free. I because a US citizen several years ago. I NEVER got anything for free from this country. I worked part-time when I was in high school and in college to help my sisters with the rent and for my own expense. I pay taxes, even when I was illegal. I went to college on a full scholarship. I graduated from college in 2000, with a BS in Accounting. People come to this country for a necessary NOT to still anyones job or medical benefits.

There might be some people that come to the US and not obey the law or play by rules, but not everyone is like that. People need to understand that. I can't believe the comments made by a Mexican-American person. You need to grow up and not be bitter at the illegal people. It's not their fault that they illegal. I know a lot of people that are illegal in t his country that ar e HAVE NEVER gotten anything free and work very hard.

I guess the BBC showed an edited version as it ran for under 3 hours, so I hope what I say isn't because of this? Firstly, it was an incredible piece of film-making. I was worried about watching it because I didn't want to invade private moments. I didn't want to feel I was using the film for personal reasons.

I came away, however, feeling I understood a lot more about families in crisis and about medical ethics. There was, for me, a subtle difference in the way choices were given to some families (more drugs) and not to others: possibly Tim's mother here. But I didn't feel any judgement was made, or could be made, on the families and health professionals involved. What I did feel is the complexity of ethics and money driving some of these decisions to try treatment or not (the drug companies), but the simplicity of love stands out as being at the core of all who cared for the children.

The hospice nurse who spoke about Alex's anxiety moved me, but so did Alex's parents who were in an impossible bind. Tim's final days were difficult - this will haunt me. But all the families and children were so strong. Deeply amazing experience. Thank you.

This was an excellent show. My husband and I do volunteer religious work in the Hispanic community in the Bluegrass Area that has helped us to appreciate their culture and the depth of feeling they have for their families. I only hope that many English speaking citizens here saw the show and can come to understand the Spanish speaking community better. They contribute so much, need to be recognized for it and receive the benefits of all their hard work. Thanks for an excellent presentation.

If the situation in Mexico is so terrible why don't the mexican people force a change in their Government? Why do they flee into the United States of America and then try to make my country the cespool that they fled from? I think that the people of Mexico can make their country more like the United States if the make an effort.

Eli

Why you wanna get them out of here?this is not your country Ok! understand and leave them alone isn't this a free country ? some don't flee they just wanna have a new life and know different people My chicana(meaning I am from mexican parents but born in the united States) pride makes me support my people.

I'am just dying to see this movie. I stumbled on to the site because of college research I 'am doing on a paper. My mother is a Phillipino and I feel good to hear my feelings through the experience of all that respond to this film. I disturbs me to hear anti immigrant slurs, I think to myself how can people be so cruel to others, but I feel that if Mexican were white Americans would be welcoming. Since there was refugee fleeing from communist parts of Europe in the 80's I never recalled complaints of them coming here. My worst experiences was the social isolation whites as rasism. I'am strong they do'nt know the good person who could be thier best friend. I'm for illegal's stay in America because it's humane.

and if theese ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS would obey our laws they would see how much freedom they could enjoy! and by obeying our laws mean's 1. going home. 2. applying legally for access to u.s.a. 3.applying for a green card to become an amreican learn english and understand english it is easy to do if you want it

Have you never ask yourself why this country is very big and important?Well this country isn't just important because it is very big. This country is important because here we work hard and we feel proud of this country. And even immigrants are proud of this country even if there are not from here. But they want to be here in the United States they have many dreams that they want them to become true. And people from here can help those dreams come true by letting them stay here. Please help their dreams come true. Please give them a chance.Weare all people!

As an American citizen i think that the immigrantes should get papers becouse if we give them papers they or some could work for us if they want to they. They could help us by joining the army so we could be more powerful. I think that beyon the border might be great. But not that great like ours.

In my opinion i think that some illegal immigrants should receive their citizenship. I know tha it is impossible liegalized all of the us. But i think that they should legalize the people that had been living here in the USA for more than 5 years and had contribute to the community. Also, they sgould legalize the children that were brought here when they were small. I was brough here when i was about 2 1/2 years old. Yes i did cross the border... but i dont know anything about where i am from, because i dont know. I have been living here in the USA now for about 17 years. I think that it is unfair for those children that were/are brought to the USA and have been studying in schools since they crossed the border and still remain illegal. Because of their parents actions. And the solution is not sending them back to their country...anyways that is what i think and believe.

I am a U.S. Citizen, born in Mexico. I say open the borders up and let everyone have an equal chance at the opportunity of America. As Americans we can not hoard this opportunity. The plentiful, wide-open frontier of America is not ours to give or take. I encourage people to join the Million Person March: http://www.voiceofthebroken.org
