Global Warming is way overrated. The effects are so miniscule that it is not worth worrying about. This planet has been here for BILLIONS of years, 100 years of data is NOTHING. Also, most scientist agree that Global Warming is happening, but most do not know why and have no evidence to support it. IN ACTUALITY, CURRENT MELTING CONTRIBUTES ABOUT TWO-HUNDRETHS OF AN INCH (O.5 milimeters) TO THE ANNUAL .12 INCH ANNUAL RISE OF SEA LEVELS. THERE IS NO DANGER!!!!!

I see the world ending with an explosion.

i think this is a serious reason that we need to fix...=/

WHY DO YOU PROMOTE THIS PHONY JUNK? ALREADY A FACT THAT TRILLIONS COULD BE SPENT & WOULD NOT AFFECT SOLAR SYSTEM.

IT WOULD JUST RUIN ECONOMIES, LOW STANDARD OF LIVING, LOSE OF JOBS & COMPANIES, GIVE MORE CONTROL OVER GOV\'TS OVER CITIZENS AND MORE REGULATIONS = RUIN FOR ALL.

CANNOT YOU FIND SOMETHING MORE PRODUCTIVE TO DO? ALL YOU ARE DOING NOW IS FOLLOW THE \"FAD\" OF THE MOMENT.
DO YOU WANT GOV\'T TO HAVE MORE CONTROL OVER YOUR LIFE WITH YOU PAYING GIANT TAXES TO RECEIVE LESS? VERY COMMUNIST IN IT\'S FOCUS.

Hydrated Methane: It is estimated methane hydrates store up to 3,000 times more methane than is now in Earthís atmosphere. The release of large amounts of methane gas could rapidly warm the planet. If the sea temperature warms too much it would cause a giant release of methane into the atmosphere. Another problem caused by large destabilizations of methane gas would be underwater landslides. When a large enough amount of hydrate is released the sediments slip off the coastal shelf and down the continental shelf to the abyssal plain. This displaces a massive amount of water and forms tsunamis. Several global warming events are believed to be related to methane hydrates. Once the ocean temperature rises the Methane is released into the atmosphere and guess whatÖÖÖ I suggest that you research Hydrated Methane

Consider the Petri Dish, it has a layer of food and on that food the bacteria grow. They form colonies and spread across the surface until they cover the surface. Then they die when they are chocked to death by their own wastes. So what are we doing on this Petri Dish called Earth?

Im delighted to know that there are people who care for the earth and are concerned so much about the impacts of global warming and climate change on the people of the Pacific. Im currently working on my dissertation and my topic is on the impacts of global warming in the pacific - a theological response. If you have more data and information regarding the current impacts of global warming on the pacifis islands, I will grateful to receive them. Thanks and wishing you all the best.

AMATUERS SHOULD STOP SAYING SCARY THINGS. If all ice on earth melts, it will raise the ocean level only 18 inches. Nearly all 18 inches will come from glaciers now on dry land. But ice bergs and and glacial sheets that are now floating on the oceans can not raise the ocean level 1 inch by melting. Advise me if I am wrong.

No one has posted here in quite a while... I'm doing an opinion paper on Bush's environmental policies, and this site has been beneficial to my side. Thank you to the creators of this program from a Micronesian.

Thank you very much for the very informative broadcast about the conditions the smaller islands are facing. I've never really considered myself an activist, but this is one issue,I feel the whole world should stand up and be in support over. Alot of people may feel that nothing drastic due to global warming will happen in their lifetime, but they are sadly misstaken. After I watched the program, I had an overwhelming feeling to just go out and speak on what i had seen. I believe we should start addressing the problem now, while there's still hope. If not for our generation, then for the generation that will follow. I don't have children, but my heart goes out to the ones that have to grow up in this world that is being destroyed severly on a daily basis.

Thank you for this succint and very moving film. We first saw Rising Waters in the basement of the United Nations at an event with the heads of state of Samoa, Tuvalu and Maldives. We went on to participate in the World Summit on Sustainable Development. We came back to Los Angeles to share the struggle of the Small Island Nations and build a campaign: Clean Air, Clean Lungs, Clean Buses to start to implement the demand for a 60% reductons in greenhouse gases--starting withthe 8 million cars in LA! We, the Labor/Community Strategy Center, are now using Rising Waters to educate our members and our base: working class, Latino, Black and immigrant communities about why we should care, why environmental justice and climate justice are inseparable and why we need to act now to fight the US government's assault on the world.

Thank you for your compelling and important work. Sheer ignorance of Americans, deplorable and inexcusable as it is, may be the greatest challenge to getting this country to take responsibility for its actions. We consume without ever experiencing the costs or consequences of our actions. Programming like yours is vital to helping get the word out, and to ultimately making us and our leaders accountable. Our current leaders will continue to cover up all they can to continue to promote their monetary interests--that is, unless the people become less smug, far more responsible, and engaged.
