Mr. Garrison - you are a true storyteller & artist. Congratulations to you for a wonderful film.

My Mass Media students at Thurston High School recently watched the Wilgus Stories in conjunction with reading the "Kinfolk: The Wilgus Stories" by Gurney Norman. Most of my students enjoyed the production and the ability to analyze how the printed word can be successfully adapted to a film interpretation. Congratulations to Andrew Garrison, and all who were associated with this project!

I saw this show tonight(11PM 7/22 Sun.) on WNET. What a beautiful program. I wish there were more of these stories on film, like a weekly series. I grew up in Southern Indiana-as far south as you can get-and could relate to Kentucky as it was depicted. It took me home with the lush cinematography and the realistic storylines. I was afraid for the main character in each story and had a sense of doom for what was to come-afraid the boy was in trouble with a stranger in the car, again with the gun in the next and the female character in drowning herself in the bathtub in the last. Each story took me in a full circle. Is there a book that these are based on? I'd like to check it out. In any case, this was thoroughly enjoyable and moving. Thanks.
