Hello,
The book, Evolution in a Nutshell, proposes that the human brain enlarged to its asymmetrical shape during the evolution of the Homo lineage, such as Homo erectus and sapiens.
Evolution in a Nutshell suggests the uncommon brain inadvertently led the human species into a nonadaptive social organization, which, with the mechanism of pseudospecation, induces a biased perspective toward minorities such as homosexuals, seeing them as those \"others.\" There is much more to the book including all human sexuality is a function of the disproportionate brain.
The book is a slow read for most people because they know little about evolution. The book holds that perplexing questions concerned with the human dilemma have not been answered by philosophy or religion.
Anyone wishing to read the editorial review, Google on Amazon.com, click on books and type in Evolution in a Nutshell. When the image comes up. click on the chimp for the review.
I hope my book will help people, who have been undeservedly criticized for their minority status, understand the evolutionary basis for this injustice.
Anyone wishing further comment, please email me.
Sincerely,
Martin Malloy

Hi Lucy and Karen, GOLDEN THREADS is not an organization. Christine would never allow us to call it an organization. It is a publication and annual celebration for all Lesbians. Hence, when I did the publication I would only call it a publication to help anyone interested in meeting other Lesbians or to help them out of isolation. Now I do the annual celebration and continue to honor Christine's reasons in this manner. Your work re aging and GOLDEN THREADS is marvelous. Christine would be happy to know how you carry on in an effort to help. Joy

I lost my husband of 33 years March of 2002. I loved him with my whole heart, but always knew deep inside of me that I wanted an intimate relationship with a woman. I never shared these feelings with anyone until after my husband passed away. I told my daughter how I felt and she was very supportive. I saw your program on TV maybe as much as 5-9 years ago. It was a cruise they all went on. I wrote your name down so I would always have it in the event I Would ever want to explore this way of life. I was in my bed the other night when I thought about Golden Threads and thought I would look you up on the web. I am 55 years old. I have never followed through with my feelings, but I know how I feel inside and always have. Thanks for allowing me to express how I feel. Bev

I saw GOLDEN THREADS on POV last night and was blown away its impact and thrilled to see something so important on television. I appreciate Lucy Winer's honest approach to issues of aging and gay life, historically and curently. Hurray to ITVS for supporting this important project.
Thank you.

I was so impressed with GOLDEN THREADS. It is a wonderful film. It delicately tells the story of Christine with humor, candor, and depth. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
It is an essential addition to any Lesbian Community Library!

Perhaps it takes the vulnerability of the very young and the very old to open us to the human qualities shared and valued by all....in fact that may well be the true GOLDEN THREADS of this fine film. Glad you brought this production into being at just the time homophobic politics are once again sharpening their attacks. Hopefully you will courageously push for distribution where most needed.

I happened to catch the GOLDEN THREADS show late last night and found myself captivated by the film. Christine Burton was an inspiration to all women not just lesbians. My hats off to the filmmakers who provide an insightful look into womans issues on both sexuality and aging . It was quite a testament to a woman who has had a powerful influence in many lives. Thank you to the filmmakers...

Starting life over in my 50's still seems daunting, but NOT NEARLY AS DAUNTING after learning of Christine Burton's adventures. After all 58 is just a baby!! Thanks Lucy and Karen. I have found great inspiration from your work. Love ya, Jackie
Please tell me if & where I can purchase a tape of the film "Golden Threads". I enjoyed it immensely & would like a copy in my library of must see again & again. Thanks, Marilyn
I just wanted to say what a great film this was, I saw it three years ago and to this day I am still deeply impacted by it's spirt, humor, love, and knowledge. To lucy and Karen I think your insight in making this film will go far beyond what you'll ever know. Thank you so much for such a wonderful film.

Golden Threads was one of 2 or 3 encouraging pieces on gay culture I have ever seen. As a gay man I am envious and wish our male counterparts had such resources available. I also recommend the documentary on the life of Ruth Ellis (call 800-343-5540) a lesbian who lived in Detroit to 101 yrs of age and try renting or buying the movie Common Ground a commercial release. Really good stuff! Thanks for letting a gay guy crash your site and kudos to Golden Threads everywhere!

I am looking for alterative housing models for ageing lesbians. I would appreciate any information available. A large group of Lesbians here in Maine are just beginning to have a conversation about what would we, as older Lesbians, would like to be doing in our golden years. For myself, the last thing I would like to see is a Lesbian face, the last thing I would like to hear is a Lesbian voice and the very last thing I would like to feel is the touch of a Lesbian's hand. I like being a Lesbian and I think I will come back and try it again. Jeanne
