How in the world can anyone think that evertthing that happened is because of one skinny, small , seventeen year old? I have to think there was a larger network to this. Friends, family, teachers, neighbors??? I hear so much about what everyone knew about activities. Why did no one report anything???? I think there is plenty responsibilty to go around. Certainly Derek should do his time, however, I do not think he is the only one to blame.

I knew all of these people and hungout with them all,it is funny how everyone puts the blame all on Derek's shoulders. It is also funny how the Appleton Police Department thinks they have this under control! They dont, as all the major players get older the whole game becomes more complex. This whole thing was a bunch of BS and for a while the cops and some of the parents thought I was involved somehow. They even still to this day think other G's killed them in the park, well impossible because nobody even knew that Jazz was missing until these guys were found in the park. It is coming up on 14 years that these guys have been gone, most have forgot about them, the real friends have not. Derek's parole just got denied a while back, he does deserve to sit and Joker should still be locked up too but he snitched.

i have watched this doco and i think its really sick and sad what they did to this young boy jazz.yerr he might have had a drug dept and got into trouble but who were they to think they could take somebodys life away.only god could judge him and decide when his time was right not some little wanabe hillbillys that couldnt face prison and had to blow their brains out cos they couldnt face prison or some little dmac try hard who got jealous that jazz actually came from a hard neighbourhood and couldnt live up to his stantards.in the end all the ppl involved in killing jazz deserved what they got but thats my opinion.my heart really feels for his mother who still wouldnt be over his death.think about what you guys are doing to yourselves and of the future.would you want your kids to be like this.i dont think so.use your heart not your heads.

Gangbangers only serve to reap misery. Anyone involved in such behaviour needs to be taken off the streets for the protection of society. There is no glory in being a drug dealing, violent, murdering scumbag.

how bloody sad.1st up i watched the doco on tv murder suicide? who themself? .at the age of 17 i was involved in gangs,i did home invasions and was charged with 2 yrs.i the f*** up.but the dif here is these guys killed someone.i feel for the families but gang culture is a way of life like hindu is a way of life some people dont know any diffrent.im lucky i chose a dif path i could easily b in jail right now let me tell u that for crimes that i could have easily and not taken a 2nd thought to do.anyways im from australia and hollywod paint a fu**** up picture of gang culture. so i did my own research into it and its VERY intresting google tupacs thug life rules. anyways not to condone this shit.i woke up to myself.i hope derek dosnt become a product of the system cause sure as shit thats all his guna know if he is.his been inside more then hes been outside and i know i dont know the whole story but i know that the familys of those he help destroy dont give a shit.but i believe in 2nd chances he was 17 ffs. so was i when i did home invasions with guns.it scared the shit outa me.rip u young lads

Gangs are an unfortunate part of most peoples reality. When you look at it on an individual basis, its saddening. Most youth indeed join gangs because of a lack parental guidance, some are searching for family, others to fill a void due to neglect. It is quite important to look at it on an individual basis because, although our youth are alot alike, people tend to generalize and group little too much. God Bless.

i hope this docco sends a message to all them kids out there who think there gangstaz,no matter what race,brown,white,black,asian,or islander, gang bangin aint no game,& as this story shows u don\'t have to be an offical gangsta to be dangerous..

also to the poster below,i dont believe its right for u to blame d-mac for your cuzzins murder,if so,isn\'t your cuzzin a murderer also,did he not participate in jazzes murder ?ask your self that question,& kids befor u go joining gangs to be cool,think of the consequences,gangs were origionally formed for a reason,not to make people look cool,i hope all net bangers realise & learn from this docco,u only live once & every second is precise..peace

I realize this is a complicated issue, however it\'s nothing new. I get so tired of hearing the word \"gangs\". They should be called \"nogooders\". The consist of groups of no gooders that thrive on all the negitivity that is associated with these people. It doesn\'t care what color you are or what community you live in. If you choose to be apart of it, it\'s there for anyone wanting to wreck their lives. It defintely doesn\'t take any heart, hope, to join. It\'s for those who don\'t have the heart nor discipline to better themselves. But the media loves to feed this monster and try to scare law abiding people to make these \"nogooders\" seem much stronger than they actually are!

you know what i think derek barnstable should be locked up forever. He not only took my cousin from me btu he has put me in a position that if i do ever see him i would like to kil him. I hope you all realize that there is no way that this man should be allowed to live. I want derek to be able to look into my eyes and see the hurt and pain that he has caused my whole family. i wish i could have my cousin back.

if any of you think this lifestyle is cool . your so wrong derek regrets every choice he made now and would change it for any thing in the world. please think twice because it could be the the end of your life as you know it, including a wife/husband kids and everything the real world holds for you. times are tough but thats the real world you need to fight for what you want. walk the straight and you have agood chance
