Recent waves of Southeast Asian and Latino immigrants are changing the complexion of many small towns in the Midwest. NEW FACES ON MAIN STREET investigates the status of these newcomers--their struggle to hold onto their traditions while contributing to their adopted communities. Using Northeastern Wisconsin as a microcosm for middle America, this documentary also addresses the negative perceptions of established residents who may not be entirely comfortable with a heterogeneous American heartland.
Co-presentation of Wisconsin PTV
"The stated goal here is to present information that will clarify misconceptions about the Midwest's newest immigrants-Southeast Asians and Latinos. It succeeds admirably."
- Library Journal
"The most remarkable thing about "New Faces" is how some people stepped forward to voice their objections to newcomers. This is not a kid glove program."
- Green Bay-Press Gazette
"Evokes strong reactions."
- Wasau Daily Herald
