I am currently working on my thesis for graduate school,
and my topic is centered around the effects of curriculum-
based poetry slams in high schools and their effects on
teens, particularly at-risk teens. If any teachers would
like to discuss with me in detail some of the effects that
they have seen with particular students (increased self
esteem, motivation, career goals,better grades, increased
vocabulary,decrease in drug and/or gang activity, etc.)due
to the Poetic License program or other programs, I would
really appreciate it! Any information that is offered will
be strictly for academic purposes and names need not be
