<![CDATA[i'm going to be teaching a summer ESY (extended
school year) class to some targeted underclassmen at
our high school, this summer (JUNE)- an english class
- and i think incorporating this into our 3 week session
may have some real world applications for the
students.
we are on the navajo nation reservation-there's poverty,
drugs, isolation, and deperation-not much different
from the inner-city environment i left behind, in
FL...we're just a microcosm of society, here-but i think
this idea, of writing and critiquing and publishing is a
terrific one...i'm going to try it and see how it works...i
may incorporate it into my gifted program for the
upcoming year...anyone with tips/advice, please
email...we teachers are isolated, as well...
