Untitled
by Kayla Ruchman

i miss you.

i am no longer sure
what most things are
i had a stack of books
and from the corner of my eye
i missed the face
i missed her
i missed her walk away
suddenly
i paid for my books

it was my final attempt at closure
i can't even
remember
if you wanted nothing to do with me.

i've been to hell and back
without you
i've gotten through it
through
relationships
friendships
car accidents
snow storms
seeing people fall apart
holding myself together
crack
(cocaine)
surgery

(three times)

impossible workloads
saying goodbye

and then i paid for my books.
