Author Unknown by Ryan Murphy It's a struggle to think, There's no chemical link, From the brain to the finger, No thought wants to linger, In the mind for a time, Trying to think of a rhyme, To match all my peers, And to conquer my fears, That I'm an unskilled writer, To help the burden become lighter, Of having success, Similar to all the rest, Their masterpieces of verse, Just make my situation worse, They flourish while I fail, I try as they are hailed, With recognition and praise, I have to break through this haze, Undoubtedly a disaster, A psychological plaster, Maybe one day I'll succeed, Finding a public to read, The poems I have written, And when they become smitten, Reading what I have said, They would wish that I were not dead, For at this extremely slow rate, It is my unchanging fate, To be an unknown odist, A poem by "?" is how they'll know this. |
