Immortal Times
by Ronak Desai

Take me back to those Immortal Times when life could only laugh along with us,
sing the same we were singing, and watch us descend from the Heavens like the
Gods we were.

Take me back to those Immortal Times when we were Gods,
indestructible, invincible, but most importantly untouchable, who mocked
tragedy, sorrow, and reality as they tried to hold us, embrace us, but they
could never touch as we would just step away; each step bolder, each step
stronger than the last, each step bigger than life itself.

Take me back to those Immortal Times when magic was in the air, and we danced
Among stars, each one glowing just for us, inviting us to shine with them
forever, where Angels would sing our favorite song, a song that never stopped
playing, because we never stopped playing, never stopped singing, and Music
was but our only oxygen.

Take me back to those Immortal Times when we touched the blood of our
enemies, and defeat was just another meaningless name, a hand we'd never
shake, a face we'd never see because we defeated defeat itself and we would
bathe in nothing but glory who also became our close friend and never let us
out of his sight.

Take me back to those Immortal times when Earth was our stage and the Heavens
our playground and Time watched us approvingly and silent as we reveled in
not our Finest Hour but our Finest Eternity.

Take me back, take me back, take me back.
