Forever More
by Charmika Stewart
Age: 16

there is a time
that isn't mine
in which I find my calling
and within this
to find true bliss
is truly quite appauling

somehow at least
I find the peace
that dwells within the heart
and at sunrise
again it dies
and sorrow gets its start

the gentle kiss
from my abyss
of darkness and despair
takes hold of me
and all I see
goes drifting in the air

what are the words
that we've all heard
that warn us to be wise?
and do they speak
of which we seek
of anguish in disguise?

is not my mind
somewhere in time
lost without reprieve?
are not our ways
of timeless days
a time to mourn and grieve

I mean by that
it is a fact
that we are more than doomed
to fall without,
in and about
this hist'ry of a tomb

must we all die
and be denied
a life of our own will?
and then at last
repeat the past
this cycle only kills?

they know its true
it's nothing new
for time shan't ever lie
again the same
sunshine and rain
forever without reply

I've seen it all
some rise, some fall
still lost within the shine
and where I've been
I'll go again
until the end of time
