FreeDumb
by Justin Olin
Age: 15

I hate this place
Where rape is called freelance gynecology.
Portraits of heathens hang
While heroes die on our T.V. screens.
Not a soul in sight -
Just a coroner who can't sleep 'cause of what he sees
When he dreams at night.
The corpses stare at him with open arms and open eyes.
This is not a dream -
Just wake up and see what I mean.
What a tale -
We have failed -
Paradise lost in this mist of our freedumb.
The breath machine has hit Syndrome Down.
A mound of sin, you smile at the pile.
Soon you will grow ill from age
And fill tomorrow's tomb.
Some slip from consciousness to find truth.
You are the brainchild of the puzzle.
That's refreshing to hear.
Steer clear of this "king of the hill."
Cup of pencils and pens and things -
Take one out for a spin.
