Land Now Lost, or an allegory of humanity by Blair Mitchelmore Over the hills and across the seas A place where seen by all who go Beautiful fruit off of beautiful trees Soaring mountains dwarf with ease Men gasp in awe at the wonderful show Over the hills and across the seas A lute is strummed to my reprise Letting the Sun warm in its glow Beautiful fruit off of beautiful trees Fruit plucked slowly and given a squeeze Never not seen on this fair plateau Over the hills and across the seas Fur flowing softly off of the breeze Never to taste and never to know Beautiful fruit off of beautiful trees Under a tree lay someone's lost keys Overhead caws a murder of crows Over the hills and across the seas Beautiful Fruit off of beautiful trees? |
