"First-Timer"

Unable to find my own voice-
i search for confidence in the words of others
Reading over and over-
the sylables i wish i could utter...
Just Speak!
mind flowing- heart pumping-
but my tongue is tied in knots..

so i sit, silent in my corner-
listen, learn, educate myself
so that i might lift myself UP
to that pedistool that i admire

So much- to learn - to absorb-
to understand-
yet so little time
time is passing, clock is ticking, how much more
until that last grain of sand
trickles down?

when will i find my words--NO--
when will I find the courage-
to speak them...
