Crazy by Sasha Bronner Age: 17 Like a patient tied to cold table Arms fastened down and legs kicking round He justifies Justifies it all inside his head - Crazy is only what they see But he knows, he knows What crushed dreams turn out to be You'll never feel the courage he tastes Head banging on clear glass wall And you'll never see the knowledge he speaks Between gulps of pink pills and green pills Shots in his veins and blood pressure taken We'll never touch the freedom he rides On flights of double-bolted bedrooms And night duty shifts He justifies Justifies it all inside his head - Crazy is only what they see But he knows, he knows How tranquilizers make you feel free He invited me there To vacation with white padded walls And swim in blue cotton scrubs But doctors wouldn't reserve my flight Alone with eyes lost outside the barbed windows His years are days and body lies etherized against the sky He justifies Justifies it all inside my head - Crazy is what they see But he knows, he knows He's crazy to you and to me |
