City Lights
by Roxana Sorooshian
Age: 14

I am a city light
I am one of millions in
The mountains of black glass
I am the night lit up
By the bright orange lamps of humanity
I am the sound of a car
As it drives over rain-slicked
Lamp-lit
Streets.
I am high above the earth
Just living like everyone else
I am the shadows in the club
Where people dance
I am a song in a lonely apartment
I am the wind
Taking a newspaper down the streets of the city
I am the people
I am the city lights.
