THE KENSINGTON WELFARE RIGHTS UNION
Organizers of the New Freedom Bus Tour, the Kensington Welfare Rights Union (KWRU) is "a multiracial organization of, by and for poor and homeless people." KWRU is dedicated to organizing welfare recipients, the homeless, the working poor and people concerned with economic justice. The site highlights KWRU's history, goals, objectives and campaigns.

NATIONAL COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS - FACT SHEETS
The mission of the National Coalition for the Homeless is to end homelessness by engaging in public education, policy advocacy, and grassroots organizing. The Coalition's publishes fact sheets on various aspects of homelessness. Each sheet summarizes the issues and contains a recommended reading list.

NATIONAL LAW CENTER ON HOMELESSNESS AND POVERY
The Law Center serves as the legal arm of the nationwide movement to end homelessness. The site includes general information on homelessness and poverty including causes and solutions, reports, surveys, workers benefits, civil rights and related links.

UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS
On December 10, 1948 the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the full text of which appears in multiple languages at this site. The Universal Declaration delineates the inherent political and economic rights of every "member of the human family."

THE INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH ON POVERTY
The Institute is a national, university-based center for research into the causes and consequences of poverty and social inequality in the United States. The site contains lots of information including poverty FAQ, research about children, various publications, reports and resources.
