Postcard reads as follows:
WORLDS APART—COMMON VOICES uses timely, ground-breaking public television programs to inspire cross-cultural dialogue and encourage long-term partnerships for lasting educational and social impact.
A Mien family reunion. An underground L.A. dance club. A South Asian romantic comedy. American sumo wrestlers, a self-proclaimed "old Chinese lady" and camera-wielding Cambodian American refugee youth have more in common than you'd think: by exploring the complexities of American identity, these stories provide a backbone to our education and outreach campaign, WORLDS APART—COMMON VOICES.
Beginning January 2004, ITVS's Community Connections Project, in partnership with the National Asian American Telecommunications Association (NAATA), will support organizations who are interested in using these compelling programs to further their own missions and to encourage educational dialogue and community engagement.
