Ongoing Charlottesville, VA WHTJ Charlottesville PBS and the Charlottesville City Schools Adult ESL program is showing THE NEW AMERICANS preview tape during various ESL classes in the area followed by a discussion. The contest gives local immigrants/refugees a chance to artistically express the emotions they have about living in a new area and their experiences here. Winning entry will be featured in a poster/flier publicizing THE NEW AMERICANS and a local program. We will screen the 25-minute THE NEW AMERICANS demo tape and gather input on a larger screening event and issues to be explored in our local wrap-around program.
