THE NEW AMERICANS is a seven-hour PBS miniseries that premiered on March 29, 30 & 31, 2004. The series focuses on the search for the American Dream through the eyes of today's immigrants and refugees. THE NEW AMERICANS, produced by Kartemquin Films, creators of Hoop Dreams, is presented by the Independent Television Service (ITVS).

Community Engagement Resources

ITVS-Community Connections Project, Active Voice, The National Issues Forums Institute and Outreach Extensions have joined forces to develop this dynamic new campaign. The four organizations have created resources to help public television stations, educational institutions and community organizations develop partnerships and grassroots initiatives that support newcomer integration.
