Klaartje Quirijns, Director Klaartje Quirijns grew up in the Netherlands and has worked as a director and producer for the leading public television stations in the Netherlands (VPRO, IKON and NPS). Her first film was about life in a maximum-security prison in Rotterdam. Since then, she has produced and directed documentaries on numerous subjects, including the death of a student in an initiation ritual and a doctor who was part of the resistance during World War II and who was appointed as the doctor for the “The Breda Three” war criminals. Quirijns moved to New York City in 1999 and continues to work for Dutch radio and television. In 2005, she directed The Brooklyn Connection, which traces the journey of a gun purchased legally in the U.S. across the Atlantic to be used in a guerilla war in Kosovo. The film was aired on P.O.V. on PBS. |

Pieter van Huystee, Producer Pieter van Huystee started his own production company in 1995. Since then he has produced 110 film projects, most of them documentaries, but also feature and short films and single plays. Huystee has produced works by some of the most renowned Dutch filmmakers, including Johan van der Keuken, Heddy Honigmann and Peter Delpeut, as well as more emerging talents.
