The oldest mentoring organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America remains a leading expert in the field. BBBSA has provided one-to-one mentoring relationships between adult volunteers and children at-risk since 1904. BBBSA currently serves over 100,000 children and youth in more than 500 agencies throughout all of the United States.

More than 25 national programs are available in the areas of education, the environment, health, the arts, careers, alcohol/drug and pregnancy prevention, gang prevention, leadership development and athletics.

The National Alliance for Youth Sports

The National Alliance for Youth Sports is one of America's leading advocates for healthy, positive and safe sports for children involved in out-of-school youth sports activities. Youth development programs include Hook a Kid on Golf, the START SMART Sports Development Program and The Kids on Target Archery Program. Education programs for parents, coaches and youth sports administrators are also highlighted.

The National Mentoring Partnership

The National Mentoring Partnership is an advocate for the expansion of mentoring and a resource for mentors and mentoring initiatives nationwide.

With 14 million children in the U.S. needing and wanting mentors, the Partnership helps communities and states, schools, businesses, civic associations, faith communities and youth-serving organizations to work together to sustain, expand, build and strengthen mentoring programs.
