OLLI WANTINNEN

Olli Wantinnen #238, the 98-pound runner from Finland, was struck by a car just outside of Chicago, Illinois and finished the lap with broken ribs. C. C. Pyle broke his rule of not running with the Bunioneers and ran alongside Wantinnen as he ran into the city. Due to his injuries he was not able to finish the race and dropped out on the leg to Mishawaka, Indiana.
