VOIGT HOUFSTATER
Ministee, MI
Houfstater has made the trip to California and will start the race with plenty of backing from his home town. He is 26 years old and will be a member of the Michigan team.
FRANK JACKSON
Winnipeg, Canada
Jackson is 29 years old and is a native of Edmonton. Winner of many long runs, including the Winnipeg road race in 1923. Has covered 50 miles almost every day since May in training.
C. H. JENSEN
Oakland, CA
A boy with a great high school record. Jensen is 24 years old and has made a study of cross-country running. Has been in constant training since last October and has worked out a daily schedule.
F. HARVEY JENSEN
Portland, OR
Jensen, born in Denver, Col., is 28 years old. He has a good athletic record with the Marine Corps and was a great runner in high school. He has trained for some time running over ten miles daily.
MARTIN JOHANSON
Glencoe, IL
Native of Sweden. Won all his running races at school, later was assistant to surveying party engaged in road construction, during this period walked ten miles to work each morning, and after walking all day in the woods walked back home.
FRANK JOHNSON
Granite City, IL
Has competed in all Marathon races in and around St. Louis from 1909 to 1915, has raced in New York, Chicago and Kansas City. Placed 6th in the National Marathon at Wheeling, W. Va., in 1909. Johnson is 39 years old.
L. I. JOHNSON
Santa Ana, CA
Johnson is a native of New York State, who is entered from California. He was born in Ripley 27 years ago. Although he has no records to his credit he is a strong athlete who has trained well and will leave the start in good condition.
  HAMUEL A. JOHNSON
Brooklyn, NY
An experienced runner with good records. Albany to New York in 28 hours, New York to Boston in 46 1/2 hours, New York to Washington, DC in 47 hours and many others. He is 45 years old and a native of New York.
MIKE JOYCE
Cleveland, OH
Born in Ireland 34 years ago and a great racer. Finished well up in the Pittsburgh 50 mile race and fifth in the 32 mile event. Joyce ran fourth in the race to Washington, D.C., and was well up in the Baltimore Marathon.
GEORGE JUSKICK
Detroit, MI
A native of Poland, 35 years of age, with a record of an 1800 mile race in South Africa and having walked Cracow in Russia to Athens in Greece. Juskick is a seasoned runner who will be prominent at the finish.

T. 'COTTON' JOSEPH
Los Angeles, CA
A colored American lad who can run without effort. In his training he has covered 25 miles in 3 1/2 hours and finished fresh. He was born in Lousiana 16 years ago and is the baby of the contest.

FRED KAMLER
Miami, FL
1921 Medley swimming champion, Danzig, Germany. Winner of eight mile marathon swim in two hours and 11 minutes, 16 mile swim at Miami in five hours and two minutes. Has many great swimming records and this will be his first start on land.

JAMES G. KELLEY
Huron, OH
A good amateur cross-country runner from Ohio. Kelley has a great record as a football and basketball player. He has spent much time in preparation for the race to New York and should be there at the finish.

MIKE KELLY
Goshen, IN
Here is a native Irishman and a veteran in the game of foot racing. He has covered the roads between Chicago and New York in fast time. Covered 131 miles on the race track at Goshen in 49 hours.

CLINTON KENNEDY
Grand Rapids, MI
Kennedy is 31 years of age, a native of Michigan, whose ancestors were English. He has no records of participation in professional races and depends on stamina and courage to carry him the full route.

H. W. KERR
Minneapolis, MN
Native of Hartland, Wis. Competed in many athletic contests during four years in the U.S. Navy, previously in high school and university footraces. Is running under colors of Calhoun Beach Club of Minneapolis, which he is confident will be carried to victory.

HERMAN KESTER
Riverside, CA
An all around athlete and student of physical culture. Kester is the boxer who held the A. E. F. Champion, Bob Martin, to a draw in France. This will be his first test at great distance running.
