April 10, Texola OK to Sayre OK
Andy Payne crosses into Oklahoma first in cumulative time and first into the checkpoint.

April 11, Sayre OK to Clinton OK
The “America” plunges into a creek bed when the bridge collapses from the weight of the 13-ton luxury coach.

April 15, Oklahoma City OK to Chandler OK
Oklahoma City, OK hosts a huge reception for Andy at the State Fair Grounds. Pyle received a garnishment on the $5,000 he was to receive from the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce.

April 17, Bristow OK to Tulsa OK
Peter Gavuzzi takes the lead from Andy and holds it for two days from Bristow to Tulsa.

April 18, Tulsa OK to Chelsea OK
Andy comes into the Chelsea OK checkpoint almost 2 hours ahead of Gavuzzi and keeps the lead through the next seven checkpoints.
