An Unreasonable Man

An Unreasonable Man was featured in ITVS’s landmark Community Cinema program, which produced community outreach screenings in 40 cities during November 2007. All screenings were conducted between 10 and 60 days prior to the film’s scheduled national broadcast on Independent Lens. An Unreasonable Man screenings welcomed more than 2,000 community members to events across the nation, and included panel discussions with local politicians, educators, and community leaders.

The events attracted a wide range of audience members, from people who were and are supporters of Ralph Nader and the Green Party, to college and high school students interested in learning more about how third parties work within the U.S. electoral system.

ITVS produced companion discussion guides to support the screenings and for use by viewers at home; more than 10,000 were downloaded or distributed. More than 40 community-based and national organizations partnered with ITVS to engage audiences with this film.

An Unreasonable Man is featured in the Vote Democracy! Community Classroom collection, offering short film modules and curricular materials that have been distributed to more than 2,000 educators to date, reaching more than 10,000 students and youth.
