Bernardo Ruiz, Producer/Director
Bernardo Ruiz is the writer and director/producer of Roberto Clemente (American Experience, 2008). The broadcast documentary was awarded the Alma Award for Outstanding Made-for-Television Documentary. He is the co-producer of The Sixth Section (P.O.V., 2003), winner of the top short documentary prize at the Morelia International Film Festival in Mexico. As a director/producer-for-hire, he has directed programs for PBS, MTV, the Discovery Networks, the Travel Channel, the National Geographic Channel, and Planet Green. He is the recipient of a New York Foundation on the Arts fellowship in film and has held writing residencies at Yaddo, Ledig House, Foundation La Napoule, and at Rockefeller’s Bellagio Center. In 2007, he started Quiet Pictures in order to produce aesthetically innovative and socially relevant media across multiple platforms. He is a member of the Writer's Guild of America, East and serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers.
