RAYMOND HENDERSON (Pictured on left) (Co-producer, co-director) is a former steelworker who had worked for 18 years in Pennsylvania's Dusquesne mills when the plant shut down. A "grievance man" in the mill, Henderson has been active in the civil rights movement and began taking oral histories from steelworkers in 1987. A long-time community activist, Henderson was Board President of the local NAACP chapter for 12 years. He has also worked as a child advocate in the schools and as an outreach worker for Victims of Violent Crime.
TONY BUBA (Pictured above, on right) (Co-producer, co-producer, co-editor) is an active independent filmmaker and lifelong resident of Braddock, Pennsylvania. A filmmaker since 1974, Buba's 16mm film Lightning Over Braddock: A Rustbowl Fantasy, has shown at film festivals throughout the world garnering numerous accolades, including best film at the Birmingham International Film Festival in England. His one-person shows have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, the Carnegie in Pittsburgh and more than 100 universities and museums. Buba's honors include NEA, Guggenheim and Rockefeller Fellowships, as well as numerous awards and grants.
DENNIS DICKERSON, Ph.D., (not pictured) (associate producer, scriptwriter and consultant) is the Stansfield Professor of History at Williams College in Williamstown, Mass. where he also serves on many academic committees. He has taught or lectured at over twenty colleges or universities including Yale University, Carnegie-Mellon University and Payne Theological Seminary. Dr. Dickerson is the author of three books, including Out of the Crucible: Black Steelworkers in Western Pennsylvania, and many, many articles, the majority of which focus on African American history and individual contributions to it, with a special emphasis on religion.
