BLACK IS...BLACK AIN'T is a presentation of the Independent Television Service (ITVS) with major funding by the Corporation for
Public Broadcasting and was one of four ITVS-funded productions
to be featured at the 1995 Sundance Festival. The three other
productions are WHEN BILLY BROKE HIS HEAD...AND OTHER TALES OF WONDER (by Billy
Golfus and David Simpson), A LITANY FOR SURVIVAL: THE LIFE AND WORK OF AUDRE LORDE (by Ada Gay Griffith and Michelle Parkerson), and
THE DEVIL NEVER SLEEPS (by Lourdes Portillo).
BLACK IS...BLACK AIN'T was also made possible in part by a
grant from the California Council for the Humanities (CCH), a state
program of the National Endowment for the Humanities; The National
Endowment for the Arts (NEA); the Rockefeller Foundation; the National
Black Programming Consortium (NBPC); Western States Media Arts
Fellowship; and The Funding Exchange.
