I was interested in the way racism plays out in the American imagination.  How is it that one goes from fear to paranoia to hate, to the point where violence against an entire group of people makes logical sense to someone?

ELIZABETH THOMPSON
Elizabeth Thompson has worked on several award-winning documentaries, including the 1994 Oscar-nominated ITVS program FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE, which she co-produced. Her film, BOOKENDS, which she produced and directed, won 16 international awards, including a coveted Cine Eagle. She also worked as camerawoman on the highly acclaimed REGRET TO INFORM, which was nominated for an Academy Award and won for both Best Cinematographer and Best Director at the Sundance Film Festival. She served as a production consultant on THE VANISHING LINE. Thompson owns and operates her own film and video production company, Thompson Productions, in San Francisco. She is a graduate of Duke University and holds a M.A. degree from Stanford University.
