When you enter the BEYOND THE FIRE Flash experience,
with passport and travelog in hand, you embark on a
journey of discovery through seven war zones, experiencing
life in war through the real-life stories of the 15
teen war refugees. Here are some answers to questions
you may have as you begin your journey:
In this online world, you can visit the countries and
hear the teen stories without a passport, but in order
to have the full experience a passport is your key.
Just as in real life, the BEYOND THE FIRE virtual passport
establishes your identity and allows you to travel from
one country to the next. With a BEYOND THE FIRE passport,
you can visit the teen war refugees, see their stories,
add comments to your personal travelog, take quizzes,
collect passport stamps, post your picture and be on
your way to becoming a World Traveler.
With the passport, you can visit the site from any
computer and pick up your journey exactly where you
left off. The passport is yours alone and can be used
only by you.
To get your passport, click on the passport icon on
the right of your screen. If this is your first visit,
you will need to register for a passport with your first
name, email and password. Please provide a valid email
address, as this will be used to send your password
in case you forget it.
Then all you need to do is just click on the passport
and select “sign in” to log in with the
name, email and password you used when you registered.
(Please see the Terms and Conditions
for information on how your sign-in information is used.)
You can upload a photo when you first sign up for your
passport. A photo is optional. If you get a passport
without submitting a photo, you will not be able to
upload an image at another time.
When you finish watching the stories for any of the
15 teens on the site, your travelog will pop up with
a question regarding the movies you just watched. (Make
sure you watch all the movies for each teen.) When you
submit your thoughtful response to the question, your
passport will come up and a unique stamp—representing
the teen you visited—will appear on it.
The travelog is your personal journal to record your
journey through the war zones and to add your comments
on the stories you see. Your travelog can be accessed
each time you visit to review or change comments you
have already written. When you visit each of the 15
teens, watch their movies and record your comments in
your travelog, you get a stamp on your passport. Collect
all 15 stamps to be recognized as a World Traveler.
Not at first. Once you receive all 15 stamps on your
passport, you will become a certified World Traveler
and your travelog comments will be eligible to be posted
on the site.
Get all 15 stamps and you become a World Traveler and
your travelog comments will be eligible to be posted
on the site. Comments are screened before publishing,
so make sure your comments are not inappropriate, as
this will prevent them from being selected. (Please
read the Terms and Conditions
for further information.)
When you register with your email, name and password,
you can create your own unique passport, identity and
site experience. This allows you to visit the site from
any computer at anytime and continue your journey where
you left off or show your friends the stamps you have
collected or the comments in your travelog. (Please
read the Terms and Conditions
for further information.)
No problem! Open the passport icon and click on the
“get password” button. Follow the instructions
to have your password emailed to the email address you
provided at the time of registration.
It is not necessary to upload your photo in order to
access the BEYOND THE FIRE site. The passport photo
is only to enhance your experience on the site. It will
only appear on your passport and will not be able to
be viewed or accessed by other users. Photos can be
uploaded as a 72 DPI, jpeg.
Yes! An extensive set of resources, downloadable site
