TITLE: Development Specialist/Writer
DEPARTMENT: Business
REPORTS TO: President

JOB SUMMARY: The development specialist joins a creative, fast-paced, executive team that works with the president, CEO of ITVS. The specialist will assist the president in development work with research, editing, writing and document preparation and presentations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage schedules, application and reporting deadlines and deliverables
  • Research, writing, editing of white papers and proposals
  • Preparation of documents for proposals, reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with others to gather and analyze information and metrics for reporting
  • Assist the president in internal and external relationships as needed
  • Assist the president on a variety of duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; strategic thinker
  • Ability to work quickly, multi-task and anticipate key stakeholder needs
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Mature, excellent judgment and intuitive; sense of humor
  • Highly responsive, organized and detail oriented
  • Relationship builder and positive attitude; management experience a plus
  • 5+ years experience in development or advanced writing positions

TITLE: Director of Series Production
REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President of Content

JOB SUMMARY: The director of series production is responsible for overseeing the production, delivery and packaging of ITVS’ three series to public television stations and multi-platform distributions. The director must be highly experienced in public television productions, multi-platform deliveries and project management. The successful candidate should have strong leadership, communications and negotiation skills to manage the sensitive and complex relationships of producers, PBS, constituents and contractors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the delivery and packaging of ITVS’s three series: Independent Lens, Global Voices and True Stories: Life in the USA
  • Work closely with series producers of Independent Lens, Global Voices and True Stories and the director team for the timely deliveries of the series
  • Manage, plan and streamline the production timelines for the three series
  • Work cross-departmentally with staff and vendors to align the series’ production delivery, packaging and promo production
  • Manage the production series team (3-6 people)
  • Liaise with independent producers and PBS
  • Manage ITVS’s in-house edit suite and post-production activities
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Television production experience (7 years minimum)
  • Avid edit system experience (3 years minimum)
  • Extensive knowledge of promo production, trailers and other video marketing tools for on-air and online platforms
  • Expertise in broadcast and digital productions
  • Experience with complex contract negotiations
  • Project management in a team environment
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
